Fat or Obese...

Hi all...

Very interesting issue currently boiling up in UK

Health Officials in UK are considering renaming OBESE as FAT....sounds funny! ha ha ...yeah mixed feelings i will expect for sure..

The argument is to motivate obese or fat people to lose weight by knowing that they are FAT, not nicely told as obese....

I pun dah FAT dah!...sekarang ni...ish..ish...:)

waiting for your reaction guys.

Fasting month is coming...Selamat Berpuasa

Health issue during fasting month

Selamat menyambut ramadhan for fellow Muslims friends and clients

I want to take this time to address a few issues during this coming fasting month

1. For those who are on medication, kindly visit your doctor to get some advice on specific issue regarding your health and medication that you are taking....Some medication may need to be adjusted especially if you are diabetics...Please do not adjust your self before you talk to your doctor OK..

2. For those who have gastritis problem...Perform the ibadah at your own pace...there are a few things you can do to improve the success of your puasa despite having gastric problem;
a. Do not missed your sahur
b. Avoid taking spicy, sour, strong coffee or acidic foods
c. Take regular medication if you are prescribed some by doctor
d. After heavy iftar or sahur, do not lie flat immediately...this is to prevent another type of gastric problem that is reflux of acid (oesophagitis)

3. Dehydration is an issue for some people with certain medical problem...so again talk to your doctor about water intake issue...and if you are advised to avoid dehydration...so kindly make sure you drink a lot of plain water, avoid condition or situation that involves excessive sweating if possible and consider yourself uzur for this time and replace the puasa later once you are well.

4. Niat puasa adalah sangat penting....Dengan berniat puasa keesokan harinya...we are somehow telling ourselves and preparing our body to ‘switch to puasa mode’...believe it or not....

Do not underestimate what your brain or mindset can do for you...By berniat or switching to puasa mode...your body will use or utilize the energy storage and water differently...meaning that you will burn more energy from fat, not the muscle....so you are getting rid of unwanted fat as the end product. Your metabolism will be improved and you’ll shed extra pounds healthily.

Maybe you can see the difference before...mungkin sebelum ini semasa berpuasa sunat, kita berniat puasa agak akhir mungkin sekitar 11 am selepas mengetahui kita belum makan apa apa lagi, dan pengalaman berpuasa pada hari tersebut sangat mencabar kan! Tidak semasa bulan puasa...terasa senang hingga ke akhir...

Have you ever wonder why after missing lunch in the afternoon, we felt so hungry and wanting to eat everything nice at dinner after that....but during fasting month it is much more easier to handle the hunger....(this may not apply to everybody...ha..ha...)

It is our normal defence mechanism of our body to crave heavily for food if we are not eating on time or missing meal, because the body always want to stay at the same level every day. This explains why obese people with food craving issue find it so hard to change something they are used to it for long time...so niat is the answer. Talk to your brain, tell them to regulate energy differently....sound easy ya! But I also quite puzzled of how easy it is to do that during fasting month...just by niat...think about it. God is Great.

Stay healthy...
For your info...I discover a trend that during fasting month....I see fewer patients in the clinic compared to other months....but during and after raya...the number of illness rise again and even to higher level....mmmmmm... Think about it.

Take care
Redduan.

Why travelling makes us ill and see doctor after the trip

taking photo from the plane...bukan 'sakai'

1. You are not eating your normal balanced and healthy diet

Yes...we like to try different food when we are away from hometown, the food that we are not used to take (too spicy, too salty etc)..and we eat food from stalls and streets (Hygienic?)...
Again, healthy eating is the least priority
And...while attending function or meetings...buffet and heavy meals in hotels are irresistable!!
Believe me...i don't thing we eat enough vegetables while travelling too. :)

2. You don't drink enough water

We walk, we carry bags, we go up staircase and even run for last minute things...so we require more that normal days of water intake...it is a simple truth...
We think we must drink just enough because we dont want to go to toilet too often...some people do and think like this
Most of our drinks are not plain water...am I right?

3. You don't take enough sleep and rest

Waking up early and do not want to close our eyes too early because there are too many things to see and to do....Friends will make you awake all night long...to mention a few reasons.
Always on the go and no time to rest..maybe rest when back home...why missed everything in this trip...mmmmmm...true!

4. Your body is not used to long distance & physically demanding activity

When you board a flight you have to carry heavy bags. You walk and walk because you don't travel with your favourite vehicle. You walk endlessly to shop... till you drop. Walking with your favourite shoes that mostly not comfortable...problem knees and back...huh..

5. You forget your medicine....

If you have medical problem...it is not wise to go medicine-free for a few days.
Diabetics with all the nice foods and canned drinks on top of not taking your usual medicine.
Hypertensive with all the salty fried fast food.
Asthmatics with all the unfamiliar weather and.... airconditioned as well as carperted hotel's room. ...just to mention a few situations.

6. You do not enjoy the travelling

Sometimes you will not enjoy your trip...instead, being so much stressed.
Go for a trip not to unwind and have a break but full with conflicts and must do things.
Visiting in laws is not fun...one of my client did say that to me...ha..ha..

>>>>

So guys and girls...all mentioned points above will weakened your immune systems and become a test for your unfit body and stressful mind

Selamat Hari Gawai...

10 things you must do to prevent your sinus problem from getting worse

1. Avoid having pets with fur at home. Cat's saliva is well known to carry the allergerns or germs that make you allergic to it.

2. Stay away from carpets. Your bedroom MUST not have carpets....please! Carpets, though you vacuum them everyday, is still the best friends for the allergens. (Allergens are the things that cause you had a very bad allergic condition, that includes sinus problem, asthma or eczema)

3. Try your best to take bath with non cold water ( to avoid vasomotor or cold environment related rhinitis) especially the early morning bath.

4. Vacumm your room regularly. Do not sweep or blow on dusty surface. It will only make the dust more available at your nose level in the air.

5. Try to use non-fur blankets (selimut), pillows or clothing as they can accumulate dust as well.

6. Your airconds air direction or fan direction must not be direct to your face.

7. Watchout for environment hazards outside your house compounds. If there is construction works in progress, please wear breathing protection (eg mask) or close all windows during the busy hours of the construction time.

8. Make sure you have enough sleep,........no excess of unnecessary stress, eat balanced healthy diet and exercise regularly....drink plenty of water

9. Follow your doctor's advice on your sinus problem medication...apply the nasal spray with correct techniques...and seek expert specialist in ENT to have a further check ...you may need simple and safe surgery to your nose to clear everything...you may be surprised!

10. God is Great.

Feel free to ask anything...i will further explain...ok..
