Watch out for the bugs on your hand on this durian season

Yes, it is true that we can be down with various form of illness during fruit season, particularly the durian season.

Do you know that we can get food poisoining, throat infection and worsening of diabetes from consuming durian in a wrong way....?

But before knowing that let me fills you with good nutritious facts about durian. A medium size durian fruit was measured only for its flesh by nutritionist and they found out that durian is rich in potassium, calories (around 800 kcal per medium size whole fruit), minerals and vitamins. No cholesterol content fo sure. However, it contains considerable amount of fat as well.

First let me tell you how we can get food poisoining and throat infection from durian, yes it applies for other fruits too, which have outer shell for us to peel them off before we feast on its delicious flesh...for example rambutans, langsat. emmm.

You can tell for now that by peeling the shell with our bare hands and directly spoon out the fruit also whith the same hands...will directly transfers the germs from the shell to our body through the fruits....as simple as that.

So take precaution. you can either open all the durian shell first and wash your hands before touching the fruits or spoon it out with a clean big spoon into a clean plate...then enjoy

For rambutans and langsat...i think i dont have to explain that...you easily know it already. Just imagine.... a rambutan or langsat that was laid on dirty grounds and most of the time we pluck the skin out with our TEETH, and your dirty hands help to peel out the flesh before munching on it directly....so ...think over it of the outcomes.

SO Wash hands before eating, our mother always say that....

Yes, having said that, some peolpe are blessed with good immune response but for those who are not, they can contract disease easily from improper and unhygienic way of eating these fruits.

In addition, consuming durian in large amount is also not advisable for uncontrolled diabetics and people who are on low potassioum diet.

Its a bunch of durian flowers, are they pretty?

Take care
